SOFTIMAGE|XSI: Mastering Materials is hosted by Ed Harriss, an 8 year veteran of SOFTIMAGE. He started teaching Softimage over 6 years ago. He'll show you alot of the tricks that he's learned over the years to help you create some of the materials and textures for images like the ones you see below.

With a plethora of features and functions in Softimage XSI, materials master Ed Harriss guides you through the interface, making it easier to understand the location of commands and how to apply them for best results. This series has two videos in the set and contains three distinct sections:
- Section 1. (Tape 1) The Interface Basics: A complete overview of the Softimage XSI interface as related to materials is given.
- Section 2. (Tape 1) Migrating from Softimage 3X to Softimage XSI: Moving from one version to another of any package can sometimes be confusing, but we handle this early in the video by opening Softimage 3D, showing a function, and then moving over to Softimage XSI to show where to find the same commands. This can enhance productivity and comfort level between the two versions.
- Section 3. (Tape 2) Projects: This section covers all material types, explains them in-depth, and shows you applications step-by-step, while you follow along with the accompanying files provided on CD.
